    Corvette's 60th Anniversary

June 30, 1953 marked the day that the first of 300 Corvettes rolled off their Flint Michigan assembly line. The National Corvette Museum is celebrating the 60th Anniversary of America's favorite sports car. Thursday will kick off the event with an Evolution Display showcasing the first 60 years of Corvettes. There will also be the first display of "C7" Corvettes available to learn about the new Stingray firsthand. GM will provide a number of the new "C7" Corvettes along with members of the Corvette Team from Warren Tech Center and the Bowling Green Assembly Plant to answer questions and do a detailed walk-around of the new cars.

Friday will see the groundbreaking for the National Corvette Museum's Motorsports Park. The target date for at least part of the facility to open is the 20th Anniversary Celebration at Labor Day weekend, 2014. The 2-day 60th Anniversary event is open to all, no charge to members and only Museum admission for non-members. For more details, please call 270-781-7973 or visit the website below.

    "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels"

The Fountain Square Players present the comedy, "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" running Thursday-Sunday. A musical based on a popular 1998 film by the same title, it's about two fraudsters living on the French Riviera. Lawrence is a cultivated and suave gentleman who cons rich ladies out of their money. Freddy is a small time American thief who cons women into giving him money by telling made up stories about his sick grandmother. They soon find out that the small French town they live in isn't big enough to support two scammers.

Showtimes are 8pm Thursday-Saturday and 3pm Sunday at WKU's Van Meter Hall. For more information on ticket sales and the Fountain Square Players, please call 270-782-3119 or visit the website below.
