    It's that time of year again! The Kentucky High School Athletic Association, Houchens Industries, Western Kentucky University and the city of Bowling Green welcome all players, fans and families for the Houchens Industries/KHSAA Girls' Sweet 16 Basketball Championships. Regional champions will be facing off on Wednesday and Thursday, followed by Quarterfinals on Friday and ending with Semifinals and the Championship game on Saturday.

    Come watch the fun at the Skate Box this Saturday night at the Vette City Roller Derby. Two matches are set and are guaranteed for an entertaining performance. See the Hot Broads vs the ROCK (from Lexington, Ky.) at 5pm followed by the Vixens vs Demolition City (from Evansville, Ind.) at 7pm.

    Tickets are $8 in advance and sold at Labold & Sons Salvage, Asphalt City and The Great Escape, or you can purchase tickets at the door for $10. The first 30 fans to arrive will receive a free Vette City Roller Derby 2013 calendar. All roller derby proceeds benefit the Barren River Area Safe Space.
