Geocaching 101
Have you ever wanted to find hidden treasure? Well now's your chance. Try the latest treasure-hunting experience being used by people across the globe: geocaching. Geocaching is a high-tech treasure hunt using hand-held Global Positioning System receivers and a set of Latitude and Longitude coordinates. Geocaching 101 will teach you how to successfully participate in the game.
Learn the history of GPS, how to navigate, the types of Caches (including traditional, travel bugs, geocoins, signature items and Earthcaches).
Hands-on: Participants will venture out on the Park to learn how to Geocache and the proper etiquette. You'll get the chance to venture into the field on Lost River Cave property to practice what you learn!
Free chili will also be served in Lost River Cave's River Birch Room at 1pm! No registration is necessary. For more information, please call 270-393-0077 or visit the link below.
