All owners of rental dwellings located in Kansas City, Mo., must renew or establish registration of their rental properties for 2014 with the City's Neighborhoods and Housing Services Department by Friday, Jan. 31, 2014. Annual registration of rental properties is part of the Rental Registration and Inspection Program established by the City Council with passage of ordinance No. 071046 in October 2007.

 

Owners can register rental properties through Jan. 31 without incurring a registration fee. However, failure to register a rental dwelling before Feb. 1 will result in an administrative citation fine of $50. For each month (or portion thereof) that a rental dwelling is not registered, an additional $50 fee will be assessed. For example, a rental property not registered until August will be assessed a fine of $350. Registration is required on a calendar-year basis and expires each Nov. 30.

The REALTORŪ University from the National Association of REALTORSŪ offers such a multitude of educational opportunities that you will be awed by the scope of what is available. For starters, this update focuses on how you can earn the Broker Price Opinion Resource  (BPOR) certification.

 

When you take the online course you will also receive elective CE credit for both Kansas and Missouri. This course is offered through NAR's partner, The CE Shop.

 

BPOR provides REALTORSŪ with knowledge and skills to reduce risk and increase opportunities to create professional and accurate BPOs.  This one-day course will explore the multiple uses of BPOs, how they can and cannot be used, and how to filter and select comparables to create expert and precise BPOs. Members who earn the BPOR Certification will be eligible to receive BPO orders and earn BPO revenue.
