Remembering Black & White Party Brilliance
A thank you is deserving to all those who volunteered and participated in making the Black & White Party for RPAC May 8, 2013 a tremendous success.
The event, which drew more than 250 attendees to the elegant Grand Street Café on the Country Club Plaza, raised $40,000 for RPAC.
KCRAR would also like to extend its gratitude to Jeff Cates and Shane Maxwell for volunteering their auction expertise and helping to reach our goal. Our gratitude also goes to Kristi Soligo Fleshman and Jeff Carson for emceeing at this extravaganza.
The two offices that submitted winning baskets with a prize of a complimentary breakfast for their office are: Re/Max First and Reece & Nichols, College Blvd. The special breakfasts are sponsored by Continental Title and Secured Title of KC.
The raffle winners were as follows:
Twyla Rist, Amy Brown, Renee Ryan Edwards, Carrie Alexander, Starla James, Royce Ann Kennedy and Stephanie Brown. Congratulations to each of these ladies!
Tameka Bryant was the winner of the Heads or Tails, $150 Amazon gift.

Program Offers Emergency Home Repair Assistance to Eligible KCMO Homeowners
Eligible Kansas City, Mo., homeowners in urgent need of plumbing, electrical, mechanical or limited ADA barrier removal work can now turn to the Emergency Home Repair Program for assistance.
The program is now accepting applications from eligible Kansas City, Mo., homeowners.
Eligible applicants are homeowners who own only one single-family property, have not received assistance from this program within the past five years, and meet the household income guidelines established by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, below:
- One person - $24,950
- Two people - $28,500
- Three people - $32,050
- Four people - $35,600
- Five people - $38,450
- Six people - $41,300
- Seven people - $44,150
- Eight people - $47,000
Application forms for this program are available online by visiting www.kcmo.org/homerepair, or at the Neighborhoods and Housing Services Department's Housing and Community Development Division on the 19th floor of City Hall, 414 E. 12th St.
Forms also can be requested by calling 816-513-3025.
Applications will be accepted through July 31 or until funds are exhausted.
The Emergency Home Repair Program is funded from the City's annual entitlement of Community Development Block Grant funds provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Say Goodbye to Your Clutter at KCRAR's Recycling/Shredding Event
Don't miss your chance to free yourself of extra paper (and even electronic) clutter Wednesday, May 29 at KCRAR's 2013 Recycling/Shredding Event.
The first three legal-size boxes are free, additional boxes require a $5 charitable contribution to the KCRAR Foundation.

On Wednesday, June 5, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., KCRAR is teaming up with A Brush With Kindness, an organization that serves low-income homeowners struggling to maintain the exterior of their homes for a special Habitat for Humanity Work Day.

Are you ready to savor wine sampled at a historic vineyard on a summery day in June?
KCRAR invites you to a celebration of warmer weather and delicious wine at Belvoir Winery Thursday, June 13 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Cost: $5
Belvoir Winery can be found in the Odd Fellows Historic District in Liberty, Mo.
The vineyard's harvest is processed on-site to create their own unique bottled wines.
The $5 ticket price for this social and networking event includes samples of wine and finger foods. Seating is available in the courtyard and in the bar
area.
