The Young Professionals Network, Kansas City (YPN/KC) is having a Happy Hour tomorrow, March 7, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at M & S Grill on the Country Club Plaza and we would love to see you there!
The event will feature an opportunity for you to meet your 2013 KCRAR & HMLS Board of Diretors, as well as your new YPN/KC Committee. No registration fee is required to attend.

Night Celebrates the KCRAR Commercial Award Winners
The "stars" of Kansas City's commercial real estate industry ventured out the evening of Feb. 28 for KCRAR's special 2012 Commerical awards event held at the Plaza III steakhouse in Kansas City, Mo.
The night celebrated the accomplishments of area commercial pros and paid special tribute to Olen Monsees of Karbank Real Estate Company, who passed Sept. 12, 2012.

Tax Bill Scheduled for Debate Next Week
On Feb. 27, the Associated Press reported that there was a weather-caused delay on the tax bill debate regarding Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback's proposal to eliminate income tax deductions for property taxes Kansans' pay on their homes and the interest on their home mortgages.
Brownback's proposal would also keep the sales tax at 6.3 percent, rather than letting it fall to 5.7 percent in July.
The debate is expected to take place the week of March 11.
What You Can Do Today ...
Show your support of the Masterson amendment, which will be offered during the debate to preserve the mortgage interest deduction by phasing out all itemized deductions (including the mortgage interest deduction) in future years in proportion to future reductions in state marginal income tax rates.
Review the talking points on the amendment and familiarize yourself with the arguments. You can then use this link to look up the contact information for your member of the Kansas Senate and call them to ask them as a constituent and voter to support the amendment.
