Facilities Kick-Off Session is Tonight - Your Help is Needed to Envision the Future
This evening, Thursday, Feb. 6, 6:00 - 8:30 p.m., the first of five community meetings concerning the CH-UH district's facilities master plan will take place in the Social Room at Cleveland Heights High School.
- Join friends and neighbors and learn about the Cleveland Heights - University Heights School District's facilities planning and design process for the High School Project.
- Meet the architects and the construction management team and learn more about the process, the next steps and how you can be involved.
- Express community priorities as we begin to redefine the buildings in which our students learn. Community working groups will be formed and projects will be assigned in your area of interest.
- Presenter Amy Yurko will lead the discussion for the evening. She is the founder of BrainSpaces, a Chicago firm that specializes in developing links between learning and physical environments.
- Childcare is available with some fun "junior-architect" activities, and light refreshments will be provided.
The district is conducting an "Envision the Future of Facilities" survey for the High School Renovation Project, a video and survey created by BrainSpaces, Inc., a firm the District is working with that links concepts of education and physical spaces.
The goal of the video and survey is to gauge opinions about a range of example school facilities and concepts for the future Heights High School. The focus of responses should be on the educational strategies and functions of each example presented in the video, rather than on the aesthetics/architecture of each school example, none of which have the historic richness of Heights High.
The video can be found here. The survey can be found here.
