Oxford and Canterbury Elementary Schools Set to Welcome Volunteer Tutors
The Reaching Heights Many Villages academic tutoring programs at Oxford and Canterbury elementary schools are up and running, and need your help. Sellout Nears for Heights Production of "Phantom"
Limited seating for the Cleveland Heights High School production of The Phantom of the Opera is still available. More than 600 CH-UH elementary, middle and high school students will perform in two casts in this year's Heights musical production, a tradition reinvigorated six years ago. A live orchestra made up of students and professional musicians will accompany the actors. The show, supported with a Reaching Heights grant, runs Nov. 1-3 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 4, at 4 p.m. Tickets are available at the school, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. in the fourth floor vocal music office and in front of the auditorium from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. Cast members are selling tickets. Reaching Heights Annual Meeting Dec. 12 at The Open Office in Coventry Commons
Reaching Heights will hold its 2012 Annual Meeting on Wed., Dec. 12, 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM, at The Open Office in Coventry Commons (the former Coventry Elementary School), 2843 Washington Blvd. in Cleveland Heights. If you've given $10 or more to Reaching Heights this year, you're a voting member of the organization, and can vote on incoming members of our Board of Directors. We'll celebrate recipients of our Thank-A-Teacher recognition program, share highlights of our work on behalf of excellent public education over the last year, and provide a chance to learn more about the work of two great local organizations that serve families and students in our community from offices at Coventry Commons: Family Connections and Lake Erie Ink. Cuyahoga County In-Person Voting Information

Vote now through Nov. 6

Nov. 6, Election Day, isn't the only important date to remember this campaign season. In-person early voting started Oct. 2, 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday continues at the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections, corner of Euclid and East 30th, downtown Cleveland. Here's the schedule: Now through Nov. 1st: 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.; Nov. 2nd: 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
The last three days of early voting:
- Saturday, Nov. 3rd 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
- Sunday, Nov. 4th 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
- Monday, Nov. 5th 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
If you've voted in a federal election in Ohio before, all you need to vote early are the last four digits of your Social Security number.
If you are a first time voter, bring any ONE of the following forms of identification:
- Your current and valid Ohio driver's license or ID card, or
- Your current and valid Military ID, or
- A copy of a recent utility bill, bank statement, paycheck, or other government document that shows your name and current address.
All voters in line when the early vote site closes may cast a ballot.

2nd Lay Facilities Committee Meeting Tomorrow at Gearity Professional Development School
The second meeting of the CH-UH Lay Facilities Committee will take place Oct. 24, 2012, at 7pm, at the Lauree P. Gearity Professional Development School, 2323 Wrenford Rd. in University Heights. In the Heights: Free New Music, Alumni Cocktail Party, & a Cool Online Auction
▪ Enjoy a free concert this Saturday, October 27, 2012, 8 pm, at Heights Arts Gallery, 2175 Lee Road, Cleveland Heights, featuring (Nick Underhill, piano/composer; Cara Tweed, violin; Tom Bowling, viola; and Nick Diodore, cello). No Exit is in its fourth season. The fall concert program will include newly composed pieces - all commissioned by No Exit and premiering on this program - from David Glaser, Chris Auerbach-Brown and Dorian Neuendorf. Rounding off the program will be Kaija Saariaho's "Petals" and selections from Bela Bartok's "Out of Doors." No Exit will also appear Monday, October 29 at Cleveland State University.
▪ The 12th Cleveland Heights High School Alumni Foundation Cocktail Party is Thursday, November 8, 7 to 10 PM at Rockefeller's in the Heights Rockefeller Building. Tickets are $15 in advance / $25 at the door. This is the foundation's biggest event of the year, supporting scholarships, grants and the operations of the foundation. Catch up with fellow grads over appetizers and desserts at Rockefeller's in the former Cleveland Trust Bank branch in the Rockefeller Building at Mayfield and Lee in Cleveland Heights.
