It is with deep sympathy that we announce Dr. Terence Davidson, University of California San Diego, recently passed away due to an illness. The HHT Foundation is extremely grateful for Dr. Davidson's pioneering work with Avastin as an alternative treatment to recurrent epistaxis in HHT patients. Dr. Davidson was committed to helping HHT patients who have been suffering for years with nosebleeds and resulting anemia. He was not content to rely on the band-aid approaches that had been used in the past; but, he believed that through the use of Anti-Veg F drugs such as Avastin, that HHT patients would benefit. HHT families traveled across the country to see him for this treatment and so many benefited from his approach. He used the standardized ESS score to monitor results, helped produce the Epistaxis Journal for patient tracking and contributed toward a very spirited debate at the Nosebleed Symposium in October 2012 at our national conference.
We are grateful for Dr. Davidson's commitment to the welfare of HHT patients everywhere. He will be truly missed.
