KBA Members Hold Radiothons to Raise Money for Johnson County Flood Victims

WSIP/Forcht Broadcasting:
Forcht Broadcasting sister station in Paintsville, WSIP, hosted a radiothon Saturday, July 18th from noon to 6:00 p.m. to raise money for the victims of the flooding.
The WSIP radio-thon for Johnson County flood relief raised $61,000.Eastern Kentucky Broadcasting: For six hours Sunday afternoon, volunteers manned the phones for the East Kentucky Broadcasting / Pikeville Medical Center Radio-Tele-Thon for Johnson County Flood Relief. First responders were on hand to share some of their experiences during last week as were victims of the devastating flash flood that claimed four lives. At the end of the six hour telethon, combined pledges and donations totaled $60,000. Proceeds from the telethon will go to the Johnson County Long Term Recovery Group that has been in place since the 2012 tornado outbreak.
