We Need Your Help!

Please direct the following survey to the appropriate person at your station for completion.

Help the KBA spread the word on how much radio and television stations support and improve the communities in Kentucky while we are in Washington later this month.

The KBA will be using the information you provide in the survey below to create a letter to give to our members of Congress during our meetings with them on the 24th and 25th.

It is important that members of Congress understand - and truly appreciate - everything broadcasters do locally that is indispensable to the public. This means community service, disaster or storm coverage, investigative reporting and the myriad of other things radio and television stations do day in and day out to benefit their communities.

So we need your help in generating a localism letter outlining the great work your radio and television stations do in the communities of Kentucky. 2015 is going to be the year of "localism" and this will be a fantastic tool to use during our hill visits at State Leadership Conference -- and all year long.

The NAB Government Relations team and Senator Smith will also use these letters from all the states when they are visiting with members and staff on the hill.

We will also absolutely need anecdotal information for stations in EVERY district in order for our localism letter to have the most effect. Please help us create this letter by completing the survey below:

EAS Advisory - IPAWS Test: Please forward to Chief Operator, Engineering, Programming

On Wednesday, February 11th at 12:00pm EST, the IPAWS Program Management Office (PMO), FEMA, Dept. of Homeland Security, will host a technical webinar regarding EAS device configuration in preparation for the State/regional test on March 18, 2015.

This webinar will include step-by-step reviews of how to configure the various types of EAS devices for the IPAWS test along with a brief explanation of the technical background of IPAWS and WEA. While IPAWS participation is currently discretionary, there is talk the Commission may, at some point, make it mandatory. I strongly recommend all stations take appropriate steps to ensure the ability to process IPAWS alerts.

A reminder E-cast and any additional information will be sent prior to the webinar.
