Close to 200 educators join Silicon Valley's innovative education leader
San José Unified School District (SJUSD) welcomed close to 200 new teachers
during its New Teacher Orientation last week. The educators gathered to learn about their role with eliminating the opportunity gap and the support they will receive from the school district. The veteran teachers and first-year educators heard from Superintendent of Schools Dr. Vincent Matthews as he officially welcomed them to San José Unified.

Meet some of San José Unified's newest educators:
A product of San José Unified, Ms. Melissa Muntz is back home joining the school district where she obtained her education. She's joining San José Unified from a school district in Southern California because of San José Unified's reputation as an innovative leader. Ms. Muntz will teach social studies at Burnett Middle.
Mr. Cameron Kolk is joining the Bulldogs at San José High. He recently shared his excitement about joining the team with KCBS Radio. Mr Kolk is a UC Santa Cruz and Stanford University grad and will teach science at San José High.
