July 2013
Greetings!

I hope you're enjoying the summer!

While most of the EPZ student athletes are busy competing this summer, we are hard at work finalizing the curriculum for upcoming workshops aimed to educate you on the recruiting process and what steps you need to take next.

Please stay tuned and look out for emails regarding the workshops.

Sincerely,

Sheila Green, CEO

Do You Have HEART?
Sports Heart

If you're looking to compete at the college level, it's time you checked your HEART.

Humility
Humility goes a long way. Student athletes who are humble, are able to not only elevate their own game, but encourage and motivate those around him/her to elevate theirs.

Education
Education is more important than athletics. If you do not take care of your grades first, it will not matter how good you are on the field or court. Push yourself in the classroom as hard as you push yourself on the field.

Assertiveness
If you want it, go get it! Be Assertive! Stop relying on your parents and coaches, and start taking control of your destiny. You must do everything in your power to make your dreams a reality. Put in the extra training, make calls to coaches, and compete with maximum effort at all times.

Recovery
Athletes exert a lot of mental and physical energy, but many do not allot enough time for rest and recovery. R&R allows the body to replenish energy and repair damaged tissues. And it also provides the mental energy needed to compete. It is important that you get adequate sleep, rehydrate your body, and stretch if you want to perform your best.

Tenacity
Tenacity is the key to it all because it takes heart to be great at anything. If you are determined to compete at the college level, your heart and determination must show it.

"You will never rise higher than how you see yourself!"
