CI's Martin V. Smith School of Business & Economics
MBA Students Place in Top 10 Global Ranks
For Business Strategy Game
|
Out of 1,109 teams from 87 universities worldwide who participated this summer in the Business Strategy Game (BSG), a two-student team from CI's Martin V. Smith School of Business & Economics (MVS) MBA program, Matthew Gobuty and Nicole Bogdanich, placed in the top 10 global ranks.
Earning 10th place for overall score and coming within 2 points of the top rank, the pair beat teams from Australia to Bangkok. In the score rankings for earnings per share and stock price - the key scoring measures of the game - they ranked 1st place, the best performance by any team worldwide.
Gobuty attributes the team's success to a number of factors. "I was fortunate enough to be partnered with a brilliant colleague," he said. "The courses leading up to the capstone really paved the way to our understanding of the intricacies of business reflected in the BSG. We achieved scores that compete not only with nationally known private universities, but international schools as well. I think that this is an early indicator of the long-term value CI's MVS MBA program has provided me." Read more

Network to Build Business Connections
The fastest way that you can expand your network is to connect with someone else's network. In addition to expanding your own network, you can benefit others by connecting your network to theirs. In other words, it isn't just who you know, it is who wants to know you, and who wants to know the people you know.
At the completion of this module, participants will be able to:
- Choose the most appropriate groups to develop contacts
