Grant Received to Create Online Business Degree

Increasingly, faculty members at CI are experimenting with integrating various technologies in their teaching, leading to the availability the past few years of a growing number of partially and completely online courses for CI students during the past few years. With a $50,000 grant received by The Martin V. Smith School of Business & Economics from the Commission on Extended University to develop an online degree program, this trend has been accelerated.

CI is now poised to join a growing number of CSU campuses offering a fully online undergraduate completion degree. Offered through Extended University and the system-wide initiative known as Cal State Online, the online degree completion program is designed especially for non-traditional students who need the flexibility of anytime, anywhere learning. In particular, the program targets those students serving in the military with demanding schedules and working adults who are interested in completing their studies. Read More

Sixteen Students Awarded Scholarships Through Project Vista

graduates-sm.jpg

Sixteen graduate and postbaccalaureate students are the spring 2014 recipients of scholarships through the Project Vista Scholars Program. Funded by Project Vista, a U.S. Department of Education Title V Grant, the Scholars Program is designed to increase enrollment and graduation rates of historically under-served, under-represented students in graduate and post-baccalaureate programs.

Eligibility is based on both need and merit.  Criteria include financial need, current enrollment in a CI graduate/post-baccalaureate program, demonstrated reliability as a student, evidence of potential for success in graduate studies, and U.S. citizenship.

Additional scholarship funds will be disbursed the fall 2014 term and all graduate and postbaccalaureate students are encouraged to apply.  For information, please visit the program website at http://www.csuci.edu/vista/programs/vista-scholarship.htm.

Congratulations to our Spring 2014 Project Vista scholarship recipients!
