Doug Lane teaches in the MS Biotechnology/MBA Dual Degree program
Entrepreneurial Management: Creating a real business in the classroom

Doug Lane is an entrepreneur who knows first-hand what it takes to make it in the business world. In addition to being a full time lecturer in the MS Biotechnology and MS Biotechnology/ MBA Dual Degree programs at CSU Channel Islands, Lane is President and CEO of Applied Integrin Science Inc., a company that discovers, develops, and commercializes cancer therapy drugs. As a lecturer, Lane teaches entrepreneurship to students seeking to start their own business, but he also emphasizes the concept of "intra-preneurship", which involves developing novel ideas and concepts within the construct of a large organization. According to Lane, "There is an incredible energy involved in entrepreneurship and it requires the recognition that the skills, requirements, and incentives of entrepreneurs are very different from other professionals."
