You Helped us Raise $107,000 for Colorado Gives Day - Thank You!!

Firefly Autism would like to extend a very grateful thank you to all of our supporters, families and team members who helped make Colorado Gives Day a huge success. It is only because of your support that we were able to raise $107,000!

Superman and Supergirl

Families, friends and team members had a blast at our hugely successful Be Our Superhero celebration on Dec 4th. From making capes to the lively music of Two Late or the autograph antics of Superman (click here to see a video of the big reveal) - the evening was a lot of fun. We would like to especially thank Two Late for donating their time, the Denver Cupcake Truck and Harvest Food Truck for coming out  and everyone who donated - you made our success possible!

Thank you again - we couldn't do it without you!

Yes They Can - Stories in Change

We would like to share the following from one of our families whose child wrote this beautiful story independently and whose language skills are progressing - a great source of pride for the family.

My snowflake came from the sky in a cloud.
My snowflake is named Mr. Snow.
The cloud came from the mountains, and it snowed on Denver.
Mr. Snow fell to the ground and somebody picked him up.
They took him home and colored him orange.
Mr. Snow was happy because he liked the color orange.

Firefly Seeks Volunteers for Laugh Yourself Blue in 2013

Want to make a big difference in the life of a kiddo with autism? Firefly is frequently in need of time and talent to help with our fund-raising efforts. We are especially grateful to Suzy Gutierrez who has generously volunteered her time to help lead the volunteer efforts here at Firefly Autism. Currently we're looking for volunteers for our upcoming comedy event on April 18, 2013, Laugh Yourself Blue. Specific volunteer tasks needed for this event are serving on the event committee, helping with items for a silent auction and helping the night of the event. With questions or to volunteer your time contact Jennifer Johnson at jjohnson@fireflyautism.org or 303-759-1192 ext. 19.

Can't to Can - Kiddo Accomplishments

* Imagine how proud you would be if your child, who normally had issues getting a haircut, had a problem free haircut session - we're very proud of the kiddo who accomplished this.

One of our kiddos has overcome a compulsive behavior (rewinding a movie) and now can focus on one task (watching it all the way through) for over an hour.

* A kiddo who normally eats alone was able to enjoy eating lunch with a freind.

New Investment at Firefly Improves Efficiency

Firefly Autism recently invested in training and equipment to implement an incredible time-saving program called Catalyst which allows for real time tracking and graphing of kiddo behaviors. Slated to begin trial use in the school-age program next month, Firefly estimates that Catalyst will save teachers over 1200 hours of data entry time in the first six months, giving our team more time for analysis and treatment innovation.
