"Preparing for Life"
Entrepreneurs, Stanford researchers, investment bankers, and parents who run some of the largest hi-tech companies in the world, weigh-in on what children need to navigate the challenges of the 21st Century in order to find success, purpose, and joy in their lives.
The New York Times sparked national media coverage with it's front page story on why Silicon Valley parents are turning to Waldorf education. This film picks up where that story left off.  null

WECAN Membership Renewal Update:
Rep, Lori Daniels Visits this Friday

As part of our Waldorf Early Childhood Association of North America (WECAN) membership renewal process, Lori Daniels from the City of Lakes Waldorf School in Minneapolis, will be conducting a site visit to Prairie Hill Waldorf School onFriday, December 13.

The purpose of this site visit is to identify overall strengths and challenges of Prairie Hill's early childhood programs. Lori seeks to gain as full a picture as possible of our early childhood programs in relation to the Self-Study Update that we have just recently completed; and compared to the WECAN Shared Principles (found on the WECAN website: http://www.waldorfearlychildhood.org/index.php).

Lori then makes commendations and recommendations for the growth and development of our programs.

Please help us welcome Lori to our community on Friday. Thank you!

Go Firehawks!
Congratulations to the 7th grade boys team for their 3rd place finish in the 14th Annual Eagle Invite at Brookfield Christian School last weekend. The Firehawks won their first game against Calvary Baptist, lost their second in a very competitive game against Brookfield Christian, and then won the consolation game against St. John's Military School. The weekend's games were an amazing display of teamwork and hustle. Every player played in each game and every player scored at least one basket in the tournament. The results lend credence to the notion that committing to work together, trusting in each other, and never quitting leads to positive outcomes.

Gratitude at
Prairie Hill

Many in our community know of the work of Dr. Mark Kamsler as a physician and founder of True Botanica - health products that are carried in Prairie Hill's The Bee Hive. Did you know that Dr. Kamsler comes to the school three times a year and works with Mary Ruud, our therapeutic eurythmist, and Amy Schroeder, Learning Support, in their work with our children who are doing therapeutic eurythmy? As an anthroposophical doctor he provides helpful insights and suggestions that support Waldorf education. Thank you, Dr. Kamsler!

Dr. Kamsler has become more available for private appointments and can be contacted at 262.912.0263. You can find information including practice details, appointment times and fees at www.kamslermedical.com

Alumni News
All over the world, Waldorf Schools participate in many of the same traditions and festivals that we do. Sandy Loucks's youngest daughter, Laura, (PHWS Alum, class of 2009), is traveling Europe and is now in Ireland. Last Friday as PHWS was doing our Advent spiral, she was helping to set up one for the local Waldorf school there. Thank you Laura and Sandy for sharing these lovely pictures with us!
