Why are we closing our post office boxes? Improved technology changes how we do business. We now interact with our customers more online and through electronic methods. The volume of paper mail has declined in proportion to the increase in e-mail. When we had a much larger volume of mail, having multiple post office boxes provided us with greater efficiency. Given the decline in our mail volume, it is now no longer necessary to maintain post office boxes.

Over the past several weeks we've been been working to update our website to remove all references to our post office boxes and replace them with a physical address.  In all instances, except for Official Records, Marriage and Passports, that physical address will be 301 South Monroe Street, Ste. 100, Tallahassee, FL 32301.  We are suggesting that in order to insure prompt handling that mail be specifically addressed to the department/division that will be handling your filing by using an attention line.  Our website now lists the most common subjects for which we receive mail and the corresponding department/division.  This is a link to our website; click here for a new subject listing and the department/division for your ATTN line.
