In a recent E-Filing Authority Board of Directors meeting, I asked if there was an awareness to the volume of filings the portal is seeing now versus the actual number of filings normally seen in paper.  I was nervous to hear that the portal was receiving only about 10 percent of what would be coming over the next year.

We have worked hard in Leon County to help get you ready.  We hope that if you are not yet using the portal, you will join us at this lunch and learn event.  And if you are using the portal, but feel you could use a "refresher course," please join us.

Portal Updates

The list of items to be included in the 2013.01 release package and the accompanying schedule has been finalized and is available on the E-Filing Authority Board website in the  User Forum section.

  • A new section for manuals has also been added to the E-Filing Authority Board website; currently, the eFiler and Law Firm Administrator manuals are located here with additional documentation to be added; also, additional e-filing video content will be added in the coming weeks to assist with education for filers.
  • The Criminal Pilot Program has concluded the testing phase and is now working to complete Version 2.0 of the Standardized Criminal Docket Descriptions (SCDD); live e-filing verification for existing criminal cases will take place with state attorney and public defender offices in April.
  • Filings through the ePortal increased by approximately 50% from just over 60,000 in December to just over 90,000 in January.
