No Need to Panic - IronFist™ Slug and Snail Bait is Available for Use on Corn and Soybeans

Despite the potential loss of metaldehyde on corn and soybeans, IronFist™ Slug and Snail Bait, with excellent efficacy and exempt tolerance status, is still readily available and approved.

IronFist™ is effective in all seasons, including cool temperatures and wet conditions, and outperforms metaldehyde in cool weather.

IronFist protects corn and soybeans from a wide variety of slug and snail species using a non-toxic, iron based mode of action that causes them to stop feeding and die.  This physiological effect gives immediate protection.

It's unique formulation allows it to remain effective under varying weather conditions right up to the day of harvest.
Mode of Action:  Iron EDTA is incorporated into a wheat based bait.  After the bait is ingested by mollusks the iron is released in the gut causing a toxic response and death.  Once ingested, the mollusks stop feeding, crawl back to their shelters, become less mobile and die.  Iron Fist™ does not result in a slime trail and dead slugs and snails may not be visible.

Because of this unique mode of action, IronFist™ is effective in all seasons including cool temperatures and wet conditions.

Directions:  May be applied at a rate of 10 - 40 pounds/acre.  Under normal pest pressure, use at the low end of the rate range.  Apply at the high end of the rate range if the infestation is severe or after long periods of heavy rain.  Scatter the bait on the soil around or near plants to be protected.  Re-apply as the bait in consumed or at least every two weeks.  Do not apply bait directly to soft-leaved plants.  Do not place in piles.
