Hear Ye, Hear Ye!  It's Colonial Day at MJCDS. We are very busy demonstrating colonial trades, practicing our penmanship, eating colonial foods and getting ready for colonial Shabbat.

Model Passover Seder and Potluck Lunch
Wednesday, April 1
11 am - 1 pm
Please bring a vegetarian dish to share for lunch, in accordance
with our kashrut policies: 
*Home cooked foods must be vegetarian and cooked with certified kosher ingredients. 
*All packaged food must bear a kosher symbol.  
*Food need NOT be kosher for Passover, or even kosher for Passover style.

Monday's Theater Field Trip, 2-5 Class
This coming Monday morning, March 23, children in grades 2-5 will see "The Ark at Eight," a UW Theater, theater for youth production. We plan to walk.

Violin Performance & Demonstration
Tuesday, March 24, 2:30 pm
You are invited to join us on Tuesday at 2:30 for a violin performance and demonstration by Aaron Yarmel. Aaron, a student in the UW philosophy department, is a graduate of the prestigious Eastman School of music, where he studied with the late Zvi Zeitlin.

Earlier in the week, students revised essays comparing how their chosen trade was practiced in colonial times with how it is practiced today.

Weekday tours are held regularly throughout the year on weekday mornings, 9:15-10:30 am. Upcoming dates include:  Wednesday, April 15.

 

On these mornings, adults are invited to tour the school, view classes in session, and learn more about MJCDS though a Q&A session with the Head of School. To RSVP for one of these dates or to schedule an individual tour, contact Rabbi Rebecca Ben-Gideon, Head of School, at rabbi@madisonjewishdayschool.com or 204-9900.

Jewish Dialogue Sessions About Israel (CSS)
Are you interested in talking about your experiences, feelings, convictions, and questions in an environment that promotes mutual learning? Come to one or more of the 12 sessions planned for 2015. Some are planned for particular audiences, as noted below. Most are open to all.
  • March 25, 7-9 PM - for Jewish community leadership (by invitation)
  • April 29 - for interfaith couples
  • May 27June 24July 22August 26September 9October 28November 11December 14
