In the above picture, students are playing Twister in Hebrew! Through this game, students practiced Hebrew words for colors and parts of the body---and they got some exercise and fun in at the same time!

Below are pictures from last week's visit with our friends from Gan haYeled, as well as a special section on a social studies unit on longitude and latitude. Students this week played the game battleship, learned about the compass rose, and created a floor map illustrating where animals around the world live using their new understanding of these concepts.

Stay warm and have a wonderful Shabbat!

Shabbat Shalom,
Rabbi Rebecca

Post-Yom Rishon Potluck Brunch

Dan Sidney and Naomi Chesler invite you to join them for potluck brunch this Sunday at their home 1010 Grant Street around 11:30 am.  From the Sidney-Chesler family:  "Yom Rishon is happening again at Beth Israel Center this Sunday December 15, from 10-11:15 am. The theme is Tu B'Shevat (a bit early).  As always, there will be art, movement, music, stories, and projects for preschoolers and their families.  As you may know, just down the road (rather, up the hill) from Beth Israel Center is our house! Regardless of whether you attend Yom Rishon, I hope you can join us."

Chai Mitzvah

The next meeting of the adult education Chai Mitzvah class will be this Sunday at 7 pm. Questions? Contact Rabbi Ben-Gideon.

Development
"MJCDS has prepared me for the future both academically and as a Jew. It taught me the importance of being nice to everyone, and prepared me for the choices I may have to face as I get older. I loved learning about my Jewish culture and history during my time at MJCDS and it has prepared me to live a Jewish life as I grow up."

- MJCDS Graduate, Ilana G.

P
lease include MJCDS in your end of the year giving.

Whatever the gift, know that it will make a profound difference. Your support means so much to us as we continue to grow MJCDS and watch it take root as a significant part of the Madison Jewish community.  Todah Rabbah (thank you so much) in advance for your continuing support!
