The Maggid:  The Weekly Newsletter of MJCDS

This week our friends from the Hilde L. Mosse Gan HaYeled Preschool came to visit!

We read a Hanukkah story together and students made a snack shaped like a menorah (pretzel rod candles and craisin flames). Gan and MJCDS students then chose from a variety of holiday-themed activities, from play-doh latke making to dancing and twirling to hanukkah songs.

Many thanks to Gan teachers Tina and Jerri, Gan Director Missy Sosman, and Gan parents Jess, Ben and Ruchama for making this visit possible.

Today, Friday, we'll also have an exciting visitor at school. Founding MJCDS Head of School Merle Sweet will join us for Kabbalat Shabbat. A veteran educational leader, Merle helped create an amazing school from scratch, and I'm honored to carry on his work every day. I can't wait to show him our new space and introduce him to our current students.

Shabbat Shalom,
Rabbi Rebecca

Development
"MJCDS has prepared me for the future both academically and as a Jew. It taught me the importance of being nice to everyone, and prepared me for the choices I may have to face as I get older. I loved learning about my Jewish culture and history during my time at MJCDS and it has prepared me to live a Jewish life as I grow up."

- MJCDS Graduate, Ilana G.
