Shalom!
What an amazing week!  MJCDS held its very first graduation ever at Hillel on campus. Families and friends of our school assembled for a ceremony that included speeches by our graduates about their elementary school experiences, a slideshow, and songs.  It was a truly wonderful night.

Many thanks to Sarah Byer and Nancy Brower of the Kehillah Committee for helping to make the night so special.  Todah Rabbah as well as to Greg Steinberger, Scott Titus and the UW Hillel Staff, and caterer Sharon Langer for their contributions to making this a memorable event.

This morning, grandparents and special friends of our students joined us at school or a morning of activities and Kabbalat Shabbat.  A photo and a link to the entire album from this morning is below.

Finally, in other news, you may be relieved to learn that a baby bunny that fell through one of the grates in the TBE parking lot (where we drop-off and dismiss) was freed, thanks to the efforts of our heros Roberto and Julie.  The bunny ran off into a yard filled with hastas where a full bunny family often hangs out.

Shabbat Shalom,
Rabbi Rebecca

Graduation.  Here are a few photos...send Rabbi Rebecca your best shots so we can add them to our photo pool!  These photos are by Aaron Granat, who videotaped the ceremony. The video and the slide show will be online soon.

Grandparents and Special Friends Day took place this morning. Grandparents, parents and special friends joined students for a morning filled with fun activities.  Among the most popular was the pet rock decoration station.  Friends also enjoyed bagels, coffee and a spirited Kabbalat Shabbat.  Thanks to all who joined us.

Exciting News!  Tuition Grant Program for New Students
Amazing news: anonymous donors have established tuition grants to enable new students to attend MJCDS tuition-free during the 2013-14 school year.

These grants are being provided independent of financial need as a way to increase the accessibility and affordability of an MJCDS education. The Goodman Scholarships will still be in place to help make day school an affordable option for families with returning students. New students must follow MJCDS standard application for admission, which is at the discretion of the school administration, and the number of open seats for new students may vary by grade.

Please help us share this news with any families that may be interested in MJCDS for their children next year.  Click on the photo to access more information about this program.
