Here we are in June! The weather is getting warmer and the storms are closer. The rains shouldn't be long now!

AMPI Meeting
 

The new board of the Mexican Association of  the Real Estate Section of Mazatlan, was presented in a solemn ceremony at Mazatlan�s  Convention Center , where Mazatlan�s realtors made a commitment to join forces and to continue working together.


 

The outgoing president, Carlos Ricardo Rivera Vega, mentioned the main achievements during his tenure. 


 

While the incoming president, Jesus Lopez, reported that his main objective is to promote the professionalization of the real estate sector. 


 

The 2015 board of AMPI Mazatlan was also integrated by Nuria Garc�a Pe�a as vice president; Genaro Hernandez, as the new secretary, and Luis Peraza, treasurer.


 

During this ceremony, our Solution�s Mazatlan associate, Lourdes Brito received an award for her work in Mazatlan�s real estate community

The event was attended by state and municipal authorities, such as the Secretary for Economic Development, Aaron Rivas Loaiza, on behalf of the Governor of the State of Sinaloa; the official Mayor, Salvador Garz�n, representing the mayor, Carlos Gonzalez Felton;  Tourism Minister, Francisco Cordova ; Eduardo Baz�a , CEO of FONATUR, and the National President of AMPI, Antonio Hanna Grayeb.

Also during the meeting a presentation was made to 3 distinguished AMPI Mazatlan Members for their participation in beginning the Real Estate Licensing Legislation movement that began here in  Sinaloa 17 years ago.

Mario Huerta (Mayor of Mazatlan from 1972-74 and important figure in the development of Mazatlan), Napoleon Bernal (Realtor).


 

 

There were many other special guests and members of the guild, who after the ceremony, enjoyed a delicious breakfast.

  

Claudia Vega is a new AMPI member!

Claudia Vega, Shaun Klynstra'a wife and partner in Solutions Mazatlan, took the oath and became our latest member of AMPI! She joins team members Shaun Klynstra and Lourdes Brito, who were already members. Liz Blancarte and Gonzalo Moreno will soon be joining the ranks as well. What is AMPI you ask? Take a look here!

Currently, the Real Estate Licensing Legislation has been passed and is in effect in 14 states around Mexico. We expect that Sinaloa will soon have their legislation passed and in effect.

 

CODESIN Presentation


 

Fernando Valdez, the president of CODESIN in the southern part of Sinaloa, gave a very intersting presentation at the AMPI meeting. 

 

 

CODESIN stands for "The Board of Economic Development of Sinaloa" and is composed of both private, public and government sectors.

 


 

 


 


 


 


 

Fernando shared with us an overview and the past, present and future economic panorama for Mazatlan and the south part of Sinaloa.

 

I can assure that while there are some unbelievable examples of poor administration of projects, resources, and opportunities, there are also some amazing areas of opportunity that CODESIN is working to plan and bring to fruition.

 

Some of the most important economic development projects for Southern Sinaloa that have been approved and are either near completion, being developed or are in planning include:

 

Port expansion

Natural gas pipeline completion

Completion of the road connecting the airport with the north - northeast area of the city (Nuevo Mazatlan, Cerritos, Marina Mazatlan and the northeast area of growth)

Completion and operation of 2 important reservoirs (to deliver water to the South of Sinaloa

Grand opening of Playa Espiritu - FONATUR project with inauguration

 of 1st hotel

Upgrading of the water and sewage system in southern Mazatlan (Centro area)

Revised legislation to promote transportation and logistics

And so on.

 

It was actually quite exciting to see what's on the horizon for Sinaloa and Mazatlan.  

 

FONATUR presents Playa Espiritu

FONATUR was also present at the AMPI meeting to give a brief introduction of their newest development, Playa Espiritu, located south of Mazatlan, near Escuinapa.
