 Mazatl�n Organic Market Expands to Sabalo Country

"Mazatl�n's only organic market which takes place every Saturday morning at Zaragoza Park in El Centro is expanding. 
A second market is now available to residents of the Golden Zone north to Cerritos on Wednesdays at the park in Sabalo Country from 3pm to 6pm."

  City Hall Hands out Free Blankets to 1,200 Families

 

''Under a cloudy sky early in the morning yesterday, personnel from Mazatl�n's municipal hall arrived in Colonia Libertad to hand out blankets to hundreds of waiting residents. 
The blankets are part of a program initiated by the municipality to assist residents of poorer colonias during the winter months."

"Rather than face deportation Americans and other foreigners who don't have documents are getting a chance to legalize their status under a temporary program.
The National Migration Institute webpage describes the program as "directed to all foreigners who have made Mexico their permanent residence, but because of diverse circumstances have not been able to regularize their stay in our country."
 

 
   
 
 
 
 

"The 124.3 billion pesos ($8.57 billion) in spending cuts announced by the government last week will help cushion the impact of falling oil prices in 2016, "especially because it is foreseeable that this situation of weak oil prices will last for a prolonged period," the central bank chief said.
Commodity prices, especially the price of petroleum, have fallen due to weak global demand, supply issues and the appreciation of the dollar, Carstens said.''

Hello everyone!



Our office has been buzzing this week! New listings, price reductions, an open house, and more are keeping us busy! In other local news, snow forced the closure of the Mazatlan - Durango highway, the bars were packed for Super Bowl last week, the National Chess Championship is in Mazatlan this weekend, the seals have not yet returned this year, and the mayor wants to raise water rates again.
