8 Questions You Should Ask Yourself Before Buying a Second Home

''Consider budgeting about 1% of the home's purchase price for annual maintenance. So if you bought a $300,000 home, set aside $3,000 a year for such common pop-up costs as an emergency plumbing repair or a new furnace. And if you have an older home that could present more issues or if you plan to rent it, you should aim for 1.25% to cover extra repairs."

15 Overlooked but Important Ways to Get Your Home Ready to Sell

''You may think you know the basics when it comes to getting your home ready to sell: remove any clutter or personal effects, fix what's broken, and stage your rooms. But buyers are a fickle lot, and they can fall in - or out - of love with a home for any number of reasons, some so subtle that the buyers themselves aren't fully aware of their logic. ''

Greetings!

2015 got here quickly, and Carnaval is fast on its heels! The monigotes are going up along the Malecon and making things look festive! There is a new event this year; there will be a children's carnaval in the Zona Dorada. The entire event schedule can be found on MazatlanLife.

Hard to believe, but there are other things going on beside Carnaval preparations! There is a new artesian store selling Sinaloa products located in SECTUR on the Malecon, a new Holiday Inn is coming to Marina Mazatlan, and the president of Mexico will be in the city on Monday to officially inaugurate the bypass.

After the bridge opened last year, Mazatlan has seen a HUGE upswing in tourism. Since then, hotels have expanded and are being built, the Marina area is growing in leaps and bounds, and many infrastructure and cosmetic projects are being worked on, all over the city. Things are happening quickly! If you have been thinking of investing in the Pearl of the Pacific, it is time!

The agent picks this week are all excellent investments. We are featuring two on the Malecon, one in the Zona Dorada, and two in Cerritos. If you have any thoughts or questions, please send us an email!

Have a fabulous weekend!

      Your Solutions Mazatlan team :)
