Buyer Tip

How to: negotiate the purchase price

''Think carefully about how to present your offer - should you go in with your highest, best and final offer first up or present a lower offer allowing yourself room to negotiate up? And in the fever pitch of an auction, always have a price limit fixed firmly in your mind and do not exceed that limit. Some people even ask others to bid on their behalf to avoid making hasty, emotional decisions."

Seller Tip

Budget-Friendly Projects to Help Boost Your Home's Appeal

''Are you wondering which projects you should take on and which to put on the back burner? According to Jim Hamilton, a real estate agent and past president of the California Association of Realtors, "There are some basic things that can make your house more livable and more marketable."
Consider these low-cost ideas to help maintain your house and enjoy living in it until you decide to sell.

Rental Tip

9 damage free ways to add a personal touch to a rental

"You don't have to use the lightbulbs that came with the house so if you've got bulbs that are too dim or too bright, replace them with lightbulbs that you like.
Also, don't underestimate the importance of light shades. They can be attached and removed, often without a trace and can change the entire mood and ambience of a rental without permanently damaging the ceilings.''

US, Mexico Agree on Greater Access for Air Carriers

The US and Mexico have reached an agreement to expand access for passenger and cargo air service between the two countries.
