Happy Friday everyone!
This is the week that we pick a neighborhood and show you around a little. We decided to revisit Centro, the heart of Mazatlan. It is a history-rich area with food, theaters, shops, galleries, and more. The architecture is beautiful and everything is in walking distance, including the ocean! The weather is still the talk of the town. Norbert did some damage, even though he was far away, including taking out a lot of palapas and causing some rockslides along the Mazatlan-Durango highway. Ordile and Polo are out there churning, but they should stay even more west than Norbert.
The president was here last week and he promised more funds in the budget for Mazatlan. That's good news! In tourism headlines, American Airlines is adding more seats to Mazatlan. More flights are always a good thing! There is also a group from Mexico City considering Mazatlan as a location for a new aquarium. 15 de Septiembre is coming up and Mazatlan is ready to party and City Hall is the site for many of these. And one more thing-- the plans for Carnaval 2015 have been announced. Viva Carnaval!
