''At about 2:30 pm on Wednesday a whale beached itself on Stone Island. Onlookers were surprised to see the whale thrashing about in the shallow waters. Within minutes the whale was surrounded by beach goers, life guards, and fishermen.
While some people attempted to keep the whale from being washed closer to the shore, others attempted to keep the whale covered with water."
City to Begin "For a Safe Mazatl�n" Campaign
''Renato Ocampo said the road safety campaign would begin on Wednesday, June 4, through notices in newspapers and on radio and television, and through the distribution of flyers throughout the city, as well as in schools and businesses. The notices will explain the program, laws that will be enforced and the timetable for their enforcement."

"It's also good for America, since products made in Mexico contain four times as many U.S.-made parts, on average, as those made in China," said Harold L. Sirkin, a senior partner at Boston Consulting Group in a report on Mexico's growing cost advantage.
China's ongoing economic growth and aging workforce means labor costs are likely to continue rising. All of this means Mexico will be a winner for years to come.
"A report by the Canada West Foundation and Mexican economic think-tank Insituto Mexicano Competitividad released Monday says the biggest opportunities for international players can be found in Mexico's shale oil and gas frontier, potentially drumming up business for Canadian service and equipment companies."

Hola!!
Another week, another newsletter! Things in Mazatlan are still extremely hot. Hopefully we will have rain soon to cool things off at night! If you notice to the left, there is a story about a whale rescue on Stone Island. Unfortunately, it was found dead this morning on Chivos. Sad ending, although not suprising.
In happier news, we have more airline flights, a new hospital in the works, and a Mazatleca has been nominated for an Emmy award. Felicidades, Vanessa Bernal! The port authority of Mazatlan is also looking forward to a great year ahead.
Have you been out to El Quelite? Quaint town and good food, but did you also know that there is a videogame centered around that lovely little village?
