We were visited by the the president of Mexico on Wednesday! He was here to open the water plant and to christen a new research ship.
In tourism news, Delta has created a LA-Mazatlan direct flight, 6 days a week! Yippee! SECTUR has announced that there are 6 new hotels in the works to help support the increased crowds since the Durango highway opened. Also, Princess Cruise Lines has created a special itinerary departing on December 3, 2015 - exactly 50 years to the day that the line's original ship, Princess Patricia, set sail on the very first Mexico cruise in 1965. Mazatlan will be included in the stops, of course!

Banks will give you the best exchange rate, but lines tend to be LONG...it's not unusual to wait � hour or more in line. Banks will allow you to cash traveller's checks, but usually only if you present your passport.
The difference in exchange rates paid by the cambios versus the banks really is minimal, unless you are changing thousands of dollars.
