There will be food and drinks, adoptable dogs and cats and of course, good times! We'll also welcome the homeless animals of ALIVE for an Adoption Event at our Old Town location on: Sunday, April 28, 1pm-3pm 1407 N. Wells St. Chicago Stop by to open up your heart and possibly your home to an animal in need. AnimalSense is also excited to partner with ALIVE to provide Hands-On Training to their dogs. The goal is to give training experience to our staff while at the same time helping these animals become even MORE adoptable. Here are some shots from our latest session where we worked with Filter, Brita, Penny, Dottie and Pixel.

This Corgi Rocks, LiterallyAnimalSense loves our clients so much that we want to share their awesomeness with you. We're going to profile them in our newsletters, on our website and through our social media channels. So, keep an eye out for your dog, who could be in the spotlight next! Meet Owyn. This 7-month-old Pembroke Welsh Corgi has been an astute student of Daytime Dog and Middle Management and is a champion bully stick chewer. His mom, Meghan Rock (see, he really does rock!) answered these questions for us. What do you hope to achieve by training?
Owyn has some issues with handling, especially near his rear end. Though we're working on this, my ultimate goal is to get him into Agility or Treibball. I think they'd be fun for us both and give him a chance to put his brain and athleticism to good use.
What's the most valuable thing you've learned in class so far?
Calming signals! Learning to read canine body language from my dog and other dogs we meet has helped me understand what's going on in a situation before it ever escalates to something unpleasant.
What's your dog's favorite part of class?
I'd say treats, but I think he really does seem to get a lot out of figuring things out. Tricks like automatic sit or attention that he has to do without me telling him engage a lot of the skills he has--and when he figures out what he's supposed to do to get the treats? He's really good at doing it. (And the treats are pretty good, too.)
