Welcome Two Trainers to our Team
AnimalSense is happy to welcome two new dog trainers to our team of Canine Consultants. They're both big time animal lovers, of course, but they each came to this spot in their careers by different paths. | |
Trainer Chris Long
| Chris Long has been around dogs forever... literally. She grew up on her family's dog boarding kennel in Lemont. " I was always playing with our dogs, dressing them up and teaching them silly things, never realizing that I was "training" them. When I began working as an animal handler, I realized what a useful skill this was, and wanted to learn more. So, training dogs was a natural progression for me," said Chris.
Chris is looking forward to working with the AnimalSense team, who works solely with positive reinforcement training methods. "I think that is so important and can be really hard to find," said Chris.

Trainer Sarah Williams
|
Sarah Williams was 23 when she got a job as a dog walker and came across her first truly reactive dogs. "Being confronted with these troubled pooches inspired me to search out some dog training and behavior books. Learning about dog behavior, and seeing what I was reading in action with my doggie clients gave me a whole new appreciation for dogs, and the dog-human bond," said Sarah. Sarah is looking forward to meeting new clients, and talking with them about their pets as they progress through training sessions. She's also hoping to redeem herself to her mom as far as her training skills go. "When I was in fourth grade, much to the frustration of my mother, I taught our yorkie-beagle mix, Cocoa, to climb a 6-foot tall brick wall. Unfortunately, that was the wall the enclosed our backyard... I got into a lot of trouble for that one!" said Sarah.
