Featured Projects: The City of Mission Viejo and The City of Newport Beach

The City of Mission Viejo (City) requested support from The Energy Network on a city-wide intersection safety light retrofit project. The City recently completed phase 1 of their streetlight project in May, installing Leotek LED fixtures in place of their existing High Pressure Sodium (HPS) lights. The Energy Network was able to provide financial metrics and recommended fixtures for the retrofit. The installation was completed within 2 weeks time, and the City is now set to save nearly $18,000 per year through utility bill and maintenance savings with an estimated annual energy savings of almost 200,000 kWh.

The City of Newport Beach (City) is currently underway with a streetlight conversion project to upgrade approximately 3,100 fixtures to new, energy-efficient and cost-effective LED fixtures. The conversion will potentially save the City more than $100,000 annually in energy costs and an estimated $55,000 in yearly maintenance costs. Learn more about this project here
