Number of Agencies Enrolled in The Energy Network Jumps to 50 by End of 2014

 

The Energy Network welcomed its newest enrollee, the City of Murrieta, at the close of December 2014. This addition brings the total number of enrollees in 2014 to 50.

 

These 50 agencies are comprised of 11 water/other agencies, both Los Angeles and Orange counties, and 37 cities including the City of Alhambra, City of Claremont, City of Downey, City of Goleta, City of Hesperia, City of Long Beach, City of Mission Viejo, City of Montclair, City of Orange, City of Rancho Mirage, City of Santa Barbara, City of Simi Valley, City of Thousand Oaks, the City of Ventura, and most recently the City of Murrieta.

 

The Energy Network's Public Agency Program identifies energy saving measures and works side-by-side with agency staff from design through construction to complete energy efficiency projects. Enrolled agencies are taking action through The Energy Network to collectively achieve unprecedented energy savings - current projected electric savings are at nearly 50 million kWh as of December 2014.

The program's 2013-2015 goal is to save 44.5 million kWh of electricity and 626,000 therms of natural gas. Qualifying agencies include more than 700 public agencies throughout Southern California. Cool Comfort Financing

Homeowners will soon have faster access to financing for energy efficiency improvements to their home.

Cool Comfort Financing and Home Energy Loans, offered by The Energy Network and Matadors Community Credit Union, will soon have applications available online for instant loan pre-approval. Submitting an application online will eliminate the 24-hour turnaround required by Matadors to review an initial credit application, making it even faster for homeowners to start their energy efficiency project. (Note that all approvals are conditional.)

Cool Comfort Financing offers low-interest financing for energy efficient heating and cooling improvements, including air conditioner, furnace, and heater. To be eligible, property owners must be customers of least one of the following utilities: Southern California Edison, Southern California Gas Company or San Diego Gas and Electric.

Home Energy Loans offers streamlined financing for homeowners who participate in the Energy Upgrade CaliforniaŽ Home Upgrade rebate program, which includes heating and cooling, insulation, ductwork, and windows. Applicants must be customers of Southern California Edison or The Southern California Gas Company.
