Healthix announced in September that it will take on direct responsibility for its technical services, which had previously been outsourced to the New York eHealth Collaborative (NYeC). And by all accounts, the transition is going well. In October, in collaboration with Healthix' software vendor InterSystems and consultants J2 Interactive, led by Interim Chief Technology Officer, Tom Phalen, Healthix assumed responsibility for its application software and support, and will take responsibility for hardware, network and security in January 2015. 

Healthix President and CEO Tom Check explained, "Healthix 2.0, or 'H2O,' as it has come to be known, will aspire to deliver a "clear, fluid and refreshing user experience. We will develop a unified, stable platform with 'best in class' tools, merging data from legacy BHIX and Healthix Participant organizations throughout New York City and Long Island, and meeting requirements for continued State funding.
