KYLE CITY COUNCIL SEEKING APPLICATIONS FOR COMMUNITY SUPPORT GRANT DOLLARS

The Kyle city council is taking applications for allocations of $30,000 set aside in the 2012-13 fiscal year's budget for supporting service organizations in the City of Kyle. Applications will be available beginning November 1, 2012 and must be submitted by January 4th, 2013. The City of Kyle Community Relations Committee will review the applications and submit their recommendations to the city council in February 2013. Application forms can be downloaded at the City of Kyle web site at CityofKyle.com. The forms are also available at the Kyle City Hall, Kyle Public Library or by requesting them by calling the City of Kyle at 262-1010. Are you interested in volunteering with the Kyle Chamber? Then you've come to the right spot!
BASH's are a free event that happen once a month that allow the members to have an informal get together to network and meet new people in the business community. The chamber team is always looking for an extra set of hands to help with loading/unloading, setting up and cleaning after the event. If you have an hour to spare before or after the event, we'd appreciate the help!
Through out the year, the chamber plans several events. If you'd like to be invloved with an event but can't serve on a committee, we still have a spot for you! Duties include registering guests, day-of-event tasks etc.

This week's featured member is Steep Creek Media! Steep Creek Media is the premier provider offering school district advertising in Texas and they are thrilled to say that one of their newest clients is Hays CISD. We chatted with Cassie Hill, the local sales consultant for Hays CISD, and she had this to say about her Kyle Chamber membership:
"Being a chamber member is invaluable! Within the business community, the members who belong to the chamber are almost always those folks who see the bigger picture. They see that a team effort works best for all concerned, that a strong business group creates a strong business platform and that the leaders of the community who work together not only create their own prosperity, they pass this along to others.
We are marketing Hays CISD by selling, designing and installing ads on their buses. State law dictates where the bus signs can be and what size. We typically charge $50/$200 for the signs per month. All advertising is approved by the district. There is NO cost to the district and most view the revenue as 'found money' to use as they wish - no state or federal strings attached. Currently, we partner with many districts who allow us to handle some or all of their marketing opportunities such as their athletic facilities, web sites, their scoreboards, book covers, school publications, ticket backs, etc. In fact, we represent more than 40 districts across Texas."
