Go Set a Watchman will be published on July 14, 2015. We know what everyone will be reading this summer. Pre-order your copy now!
Gail Caldwell is one of those rare and most talented writers who can turn everything -- book reviews or experience -- into gold. We are delighted that she will be here with us on Thursday, February 5 at 7:00pm to present her new memoir, New Life, No Instructions. Exquisitely written, as usual, New Life, No Instructions details a dramatic turning point in her life and shows us the surprising way life can begin again, at any age.
Join us on Friday, February 6 at 7:00pm to meet award-winning author Kate Messner when she will introduce her new book for young adults, All the Answers. Her previous books include Wake Up Missing, Eye of the Storm, and Ranger in Time. Kate is also the author of the popular Marty McGuire chapter book series and the Silver Jaguar Society mysteries. Her picture books include Sea Monster's First Day and Over and Under the Snow. She lives on Lake Champlain with her family.
Crazy-talented graphic novelist Gareth Hinds returns to Wellesley Books on Wednesday, February 11 at 7:00pm to share his latest interpretation, Macbeth, Shakespeare's classic story of dark ambition, madness, and murder. Gareth's captivating, richly illustrated adaptation take readers into the claustrophobic mind of a man driven mad by ambition.

Etta and Otto and Russell and James by Emma Hooper
Etta and Otto and Russell and James is a marvelous tale of friendship, love, honor, duty and self discovery as lived by three of the most memorable characters you will ever meet. This well told story shifts from current day octogenarian wisdom and soul searching back to depression era farm life in Western Canada and the grim realities of World War II. Etta's decision to venture to the sea on her own marks the beginning of her individual journey but also sets off a chain reaction in the lives of the men she holds dear. Enchanting!

Moriarty by Anthony Horowitz
The second of Horowitz's authorized Sherlock Holmes tales. Sherlock Holmes is dead as is his arch enemy Professor Moriarty, both presumably drowned at Reichenbach Falls. Enter DI Athelney Jones and Pinkerton agent Frederick Chase who take on the roles of Holmes and Watson in order to capture an American criminal mastermind who had been thought to be joining forces with Moriarty. In classic Doyle style, there is what you see and what is hidden just beneath the surface.

How to Be Both by Ali Smith
Two stories - one modern, one 15th century - told in sequence but intricately intertwined through time, life experience, gender, and art. Ali Smith delivers a reading experience that comes around only rarely. I fell into this book completely. If you liked Possession, Headlong, Cloud Atlas, or Orlando then read this book.

New Life, No Instructions by Gail Caldwell Gail Caldwell tells her story of getting a new lease on life through her hip replacement. But since she's an award-winning journalist -- and off the charts writer -- her story is charming, caustic and real. Infused with descriptions of her struggles, her wonderful canine companion and her indefatigable determination, this is a victorious memoir.

The adorable and charming Scoutie Sue is a 9 year-old Southern Wire-haired Terrier, which is apparently not old at all for her breed as they live forever. She was more than happy to get her cookie so she could relax a little bit. How cute is she in her sweater?
