The Storyteller by Jodi Picoult Jodi always tells a good story and this is one of her best in years. The eponymous storyteller is a Holocaust survivor, living in the same small town in New Hampshire as a former Nazi SS officer. The officer has changed his name but he can't change his past. This is only the main storyline - there are many more including a story inside the story. The ending is completely unpredictable - I didn't guess it!

The Cartographer of No Man's Land by P. S. Duffy This beautifully written novel follows a father on a personal mission in Belgium during WWI and his 14-year old son coming of age in Nova Scotia. Duffy brilliantly superimposes marvelous imagery of the Canadian coastal region with the horrors of the battlefield as her characters' memories flow between homeland and war front. Both father and son make life changing discoveries about human nature during the course of the novel. Fabulous characters, plot and writing all in one!

The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion
The Rosie Project is Where'd You Go, Bernadette meets The Silver Linings Playbook. This book is laugh out loud funny and full of quirky characters involved in a sweet, upbeat story. I loved Rosie and Don. Start early in the day or else you'll be reading straight through the night!

A Guide for the Perplexed by Dara Horn Layers of history are explored and brilliantly brought to the new age of computers in this carefully researched and crafted story. I am a big fan of Dara Horn and this latest novel doesn't disappoint.

This handsome boy is a 5 year-old Golden Retriever named Dylan. He was all dressed up in his scarf and was so very happy to get a treat. While he was here, an 8 week-old puppy came in and they became best buddies. Hopefully I can catch the puppy next time she comes in. Dylan's owner was shopping all the dog-friendly stores in Wellesley (Talbot's and Chico's). We love being a part of this neighborhood of dog lovers!
