You may notice a new look to the newsletter! We have decided to join forces and send one newsletter out each month that covers all the activities at the farm. Previously one was sent to the community gardeners and one to the folks who have signed up for camps and classes.
Coming up this spring, we have two offerings for kids to come to the farm when school is out. On Friday, March 7th, kids ages 5-11 are welcome to attend No School Garden Day. This is a great way to see if your child might be interested in our Spring Break Farm Camp offered later in the month. Links to see more information and to sign up can be found below.
COMMUNITY GARDEN NEWS
The Farm is welcoming eleven new families to garden with us this year. These are the folks that were selected in our recent lottery. Many of the returning gardeners have attended one of the four garden orientations where the new agreement was signed. If you did not attend one of these sessions, you must come to one of the first two work parties and stay a few minutes afterwards to go over the rule changes and sign your 2014 agreement. The agreement and signature page can be found by clicking here.
Did you know that wonderful, free gardening advice is available through the Oregon State Extension office? Take a look at their webpage and see for yourself!
As you may well know Karen Davis is retiring as Farm Coordinator as of January 31, 2014. You will still see her here working in her plot, make sure to stop by and say Hello!
I will be filling in as the Interim Farm Coordinator until a permanent hire is selected. I'm looking forward to serving the farm to the best of my abilities!
Warm Regards,
Dawn Grunwald
