Greetings!
Summer is here! Camps have started, fruits and veggies are growing and there are flowers everywhere. The campers are having a lot of fun in the garden picking strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and snow peas for their snacks. We have also started seeds in the greenhouse and played some fun games while learning about organic gardening. There are still openings in some of the Farm Camps so check your schedule and register your child today.
Last month the Kids in the Kitchen class harvested fresh strawberries from the garden to use in their crepes and lemonade. This month's class is full, but the August class still has some openings. Luscher Farm Family dinners continue this Summer, with the chance to share a meal with other families under the Heritage tree in the Clematis Garden. These classes also harvest produce from the Children's Garden to prepare farm fresh meals, so sign up today!
We also have spots left in our Backyard Chickens for Kids Class for 5 to 8 year olds. The kids will be learning about chickens through songs games and a fun craft.
The Luscher Farm Children's Garden is hosting monthly volunteer work parties where you can help with maintenance of the Children's Garden and learn about organic gardening. Our next work party is Saturday July 20th from 9:30am to 12pm. We will work rain or shine. The project for July will be to get the winter garden planted.
See you in the garden!
