Greetings!
What a busy month May was, it just flew by! We had the Green Team from New Seasons weed and plant our Pizza Garden. The Eagle Scout candidate Garrett Riggs and his volunteers weeded paths, replaced two 20 x 20 borders in the garden and placed more gravel on the greenhouse floor. His group also reinstalled the pea tunnel, so things are really shaping up. If you'd like your group to have a volunteer experience with us please contact me. There is always plenty to do!
Chef Laura has some wonderful offerings for Kids in the Kitchen this Summer. The strawberries, blueberries and raspberries are coming along in the Children's Garden, so make sure your 6 to 15 year old has a chance to cook from the garden with Chef Laura.
Luscher Farm Family dinners continue this Summer, with the chance to share a meal with other families under the Heritage tree in the Clematis Garden. These classes also harvest produce from the Children's Garden to prepare farm fresh meals, so sign up today!
Summer Camps are filling fast, so register now to assure your child's place here at the Farm this Summer.
The Luscher Farm Children's Garden is hosting monthly volunteer work parties where you can help with maintenance of the Children's Garden and learn about organic gardening. Our next work party is Saturday June 22th from 10 to 12pm. This will be a family work day so please bring your kids! We will work rain or shine. There are plenty of indoor tasks to do in the classroom, shed and greenhouse.
Warm Regards,
Children's Garden Coordinator
