One of the very important reasons for the Transfer of Public Lands is that poor federal land management is destroying the very landscapes that federal agencies are meant to preserve. We want to be able to paint this picture very clearly and WE NEED YOUR HELP! The American Lands Council is compiling a portfolio of photographs illustrating the damage that has been done to natural spaces in each state due to federal mismanagement. We want to tell a visual story of the current condition of federally managed public lands. For example, below is a dramatic scene near Grand Lake, CO where beetle kill has ravaged the forest that was healthy only 7 years ago. http://www2.ucar.edu/atmosnews/opinion/9366/bark-beetle-blues So, what do we need from you? 3 Simple Things 1. If you have any photographs of what the forests and other public lands in your area looked like before federal mismanagement got so out of hand please send us a copy of them. It doesn't matter if the pictures were taken 10 years ago or 75 years ago, we want them. 2. If you have any photographs of the damage that has been done in the last few years to the forests and other public lands in your area as a result of federal mismanagement please send us a copy of them. You can email your photographs to: [email protected] or Mail them to the ALC office: American Lands Council 10808 S. River Front Parkway, Suite 334 South Jordan, UT 84095 (If you would like your photographs returned to you by mail please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope.) When you send us photographs please be sure to include the dates and locations for each picture (can be estimates), and your contact information in case we have questions for you. **By sending American Lands Council your photographs you are stating you have the proper copyright authority to do so and are authorizing American Lands Council to publish and/or use them at will.** |
