Where We've Been

If you think January was busy at the American Lands Council, you should have seen FEBRUARY!  With the states having their Legislative Sessions and many states working to pass various bills to bring about a Transfer of Public Lands to the states, we have worked around the clock to help restore the balance of power back to the states, as our Constitution established.
ALC Government Affairs Specialist, Michael Swenson has worked tirelessly with elected officials throughout the West to help educate them and their constituents about the Transfer of Public Lands Acts (TPLA) and de-bunk some of the misinformation floating around.  This work is paying off!
States Move Forward

As you have seen in our weekly emails, bills are being moved forward in Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, and New Mexico, just for starters!  There are also Eastern states such as North Caroline and Arkansas running resolutions to support the efforts of the Western States.
Resolutions of Cities, Counties, and various organizations are becoming too numerous to name as people are anxious to lend their voices to the cause.  It is now very apparent that this is not just a vocal minority expressing their concerns, but a unified stance in the West to re-establish state sovereignty and draw the lines around our jurisdictional powers.
The Truth Shall Set You Free

Please take the time to watch this short video that will help shed some light on our current situation and why it is so crucial at this time to stand up for our states' rights.  Then share this video with your friends and family.  With social media websites and email, it is easy to make a difference with the click of a mouse, by passing on this message to many people at once.  You will be doing them a favor as the only way to affectively address the issues before us is to know the truth.  As Patrick Henry once said, "We are apt to shut our eyes against a painful truth... For my part, I am willing to know the whole truth; to know the worst; and to provide for it."
