This Week's Challenge:
  • Contact your State Legislator and Senator and ask them what bills are going forward to support the return of your public lands back to your state.
  • Listen to the video below to hear Ken's explanation of how the Transfer of Public Lands will affect our economy.

Greetings!

As the federal government borrows 40 cents of every dollars it spends, states are busy figuring out how to cut the financial cord, protecting their citizens from the financial fall that is most certainly coming.

Public Lands and Fiscal Sustainability

One of the first questions we receive about the Public Lands issue is, "How can the states afford to take care of all of those lands?"  Our answer is, "We cannot afford to NOT be in charge of our own lands."  In addition to the many thousands of ranchers, farmers, miners, outdoorsmen, and others who rely on access to public lands for their survival, there are more energy resources in the West than the rest of the world combined.  And the facts continually prove that when public lands are managed by the states, their return is nine times better than at the hands of the federal government.  The people of our states need the freedom to access our lands, as was promised in our Enabling Acts.

If you haven't done so already, I invite you to Become a Member of The American Lands Council today and join us in restoring the balance of power as it was established in our nation's Constitution.  It has been done before.  It will be done again.

Don't ask what you can do.  Just do all you can do.  And that will be enough.
