January 2013- In This Issue:

Where We've Been
A Look Back at 2012

2012 will always be special to the American Lands Council, as that is the year of our organization!  With the passing of Utah's HB 148  The Transfer of Public Lands Act, people started realizing that there actually is a solution big enough to address the jurisdictional issues we face in our western states today.
Our first year of growth has been steady as you, along with several individuals, counties and organizations, have combined your jurisdictional power to restore our states' rights, as established in our nation's Constitution.
2013 Strategy
What Lies Ahead

In just a few days, political leaders from the Western States will be gathering to coordinate efforts in how we reach those with jurisdictional power.  We will be focusing our conversations on getting The Transfer of Public Lands Act passed in the several states, as well as the pressing issues of travel management, intrusions into water rights and forest health, as these issues are at the forefront of those dealt with daily by our local governments.
We will be sure to keep you informed as to the outcomes of this meeting in our weekly emails and the February newsletter.

What You Can Do
New Years Resolution

What better time of year to talk about resolutions than now?
As the Western States are preparing their legislation to restore the public lands back to the states, we need the help of our Eastern states as well.  Many of  the Eastern states once stood in the very same positions that states in the West now face:  without the ability to educate their children, provide good paying jobs and tax their public lands.  But because they knew their history and refused to take "NO" for an answer, they now own the large percentage of their lands.
The federal intrusions upon one state's jurisdiction is an offense to us all!  We must stand up and support each other in preserving our constitutional rights.
Many of our local counties and states are preparing letters of Resolution in support of the Western State's and their Transfer of Public Lands Acts bills.
Write to your county, state and national representatives and encourage them to support the passing of a Transfer of Public Lands Act in your state, or a Resolution of Support for the transfer of Public Lands in the Western States.
Your voice of courage and support to your representatives makes all the difference.  Do not underestimate the power of your voice.
Thank you for your support!
