Harvest Moon Dance at Headlands Dark Sky Park Sept. 17th from 7:30 -10:00 p.m. you can dance under the Full Moon with the Jill Jack Band!
 Harvest Moon is the Full Moon closest to Equinox each year, and the Headlands International Dark Sky Park in Mackinaw City is planning a dance to celebrate the change of the season. The Harvest Moon Dance will take place under the festival tent with live music featuring the Jill Jack Band, of Detroit. While most evenings visitors to the park must walk a mile in to the dark sky viewing area along the shoreline, on this evening a tent will be placed near the Headlands entrance. Little Traverse Conservancy's first ever Concert for Conservation takes place this Sunday September 18th from 5-8 p.m. at Aten Place in Boyne Falls

Crooked Tree Arts Center's 2016 eddi Award recipients have been selected, and will be recognized at the Awards Ceremony on Friday, September 23 at CTAC-Petoskey.
The eddi Awards honor and celebrate the individuals and organizations who work to keep the arts alive in northern Michigan through appreciation and participation. The 2016 eddi Sponsors include PNC Bank, CMU Public Broadcasting, Bay View, Blissfest Music Organization, Great Lakes Center for the Arts, Fox Motors, Petoskey Plastics, Little Traverse Civic Theatre, and Karin Offield. North Central Michigan College's luncheon lecture series for the fall semester begins on Friday, September 23rd with a look at the harp.
The program will be held in the College's Library conference room. Lunch begins at 11:30 a.m. and the program begins at noon. Harpist Lynne Aspnes is professor emeritus of harp, University of Michigan School of Music, and a former music faculty member at Arizona State University. In 2012, she founded the American Harp Center in Petoskey to promote opportunities for emerging career harpists to continue their study of the harp with outstanding teachers and performers. Individuals in the beginning stages of starting a business, in need of accessing capital, or simply considering self-employment, will have the opportunity to attend a Starting a Business workshop Wednesday, October 5th
in Petoskey. The workshop is being offered by the Northwest Michigan Small Business Development Center (SBDC) in partnership with North Central Michigan College, and is being held from noon to 2:30 p.m. in Room 536 of the North Central Student and Community Resource Center, 1515 Howard Street. North Central Michigan College, the Char-Em ISD, Northern Michigan Human Services Agency and other community early care and education programs will present the Early Childhood Windows of Opportunity Conference, Friday, October 7th
