will be due July 18th @ 5 p.m. 
The Mission of Leadership Little Traverse is to inspire and prepare leaders. LLT is open to anyone with an interest in learning about and becoming involved in the community. 

Candidate's Forum, Congress and State House July 19th
Local voters have much to think about with the upcoming Primary Election on August 2nd. In addition to the Emmet County Commission races, there are also interesting races for U.S. Congress and for the 107th State House. Four local organizations are giving you an opportunity to meet the candidates and learn how they stand on key issues at an upcoming Candidates Forum to be held Tue. July 19 in the Iron Horse Café at North Central Michigan College. There will be a Meet and Greet segment at 6:00 p.m. followed by a moderated forum at 7:00 p.m. Hosts of the event include the Petoskey Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Petoskey News-ReviewEmmet Association of Realtors and North Central Michigan College. Refreshments will be provided by Angel Heart Home CareCandidates invited from the 1st U.S. Congressional District of Michigan include Republicans Jason Allen, Jack Bergman, and Tom Casperson and Democrats Jerry Cannon and Lon Johnson. For the 107th State House Race the hosts have invited Republican Candidates Lee Chatfield and Kathy Twardy and Democrat Phil Bellfy. The forum is free and open to the public

Chamber President Carlin Smith and Board Member Ashley Whitney of Harbor/Brenn Agencies have embarked on a year-long study of the Conscious Capitalism movement through a program called Thriving Michigan hosted by the Michigan Association of Chamber Professionals and Thrive Consulting led by Nathan Havey.  From time to time, Carlin and Ashley will share their experiences with Thriving Michigan through blogs or videos.
