Thanks to community support, Comfort Keepers of Northern Lower Michigan and American House of Petoskey and Charlevoix raised over $2,500 during their "Grilling for a Cure" Alzheimer's fundraiser on June 20. The fundraiser was created in support of the Alzheimer's Association's The Longest Day event to raise awareness and funds toward a cure for Alzheimer's. Comfort Keepers and American House, along with the help of local celebrities, spent The Longest Day grilling, washing cars and selling baked goods. The public was invited to visit either the American House in Petoskey or Charlevoix, and for a donation, enjoy breakfast, burgers, hot dogs and all the fixins', get a car wash and also select from a variety of baked goods.
